31 May – 2 June 2024
Come to a place full of creativity and possibility of inner peace.
We go on retreat when we want to immerse ourselves
Retreat means withdrawal. It is an opportunity for both physical and mental withdrawal, a way to slow down, dive into ourselves and find peace and harmony in body and mind.
In peace and quiet, we communicate with Jesus and each other in a way that words do not always manage to reach.
We believe that through silence and creativity we can find rest and direction for our daily lives.
Creativity and peace
When we shape the clay or repeat the motions of a knitting project, the tempo slows down. This process allows us to relax and reduces stress, allowing space to clear our thoughts. Besides the satisfaction of creating a work of art.
The retreat will focus on tranquility, with activities such as doing pottery together, knitting and scenic walks in nature.
Our meeting will be based on the idea that our Creator sees us with loving eyes. Each day will start with a short inspiration for Christian meditation followed by time for silence and reflection. In smaller groups we can share our experiences and thoughts.
In our pottery workshop, we have a selection of pottery tools available to all participants. Here there is also the possibility of individual guidance and help with the ceramic work.
It is a fascinating process from the initial shaping of the clay to the finished ceramic work. After shaping, the drying process follows, and then comes the firing phase, glazing and another firing. We take care of the drying and firing process, but the choice to glaze the ceramics is up to you.
If you would like to be part of the glazing process, we are planning a workshop (date to be announced soon). It will be an exciting opportunity to create the final touch on your ceramic works. Here there will be an introduction to different types of glazes available in our workshop, followed by the opportunity to dive into the exciting glazing process. If you prefer that we take care of the glazing of your pottery, the color choice will be made during the pottery retreat weekend.
