Dates: October 9–19, 2026.

Join an outreach to Belo Horizonte together with a team from Denmark. The team will, among other things, visit prisons, reach out in the red-light district/brothels, and support discipleship in a compassion house for women and children who are starting a new life.

We will also take part in a special Saturday at Brazil’s oldest YWAM base, with games, food, and care for women and children from the red-light district.

YWAM Sjellebro will lead the team in partnership with local ministries.

Who can join?
The outreach is for anyone over 18 who wants to bring light into dark places, serve in practical ways, and meet new people and cultures.

Because of the nature of the work, there is an application process.

A little about Belo Horizonte
Belo Horizonte is the capital of the state of Minas Gerais and serves as the state’s main economic and financial center.

The city is often called “BH” by its residents (pronounced Beagá). It was founded in 1897 as one of Brazil’s first planned cities and is known for its hilly landscape.

Belo Horizonte is also home to a UNESCO World Heritage site designed by the architect Oscar Niemeyer. The city is a showcase of traditions, history, gastronomy, hospitality, and creativity.

However, the city also has a darker side: It is estimated that around 4,000–5,000 women work as sex workers in the city’s brothels.

Practical Information
Price: DKK 9,000

The price includes food, accommodation, and the full ministry program from arrival to departure. Travel between Denmark and Belo Horizonte is not included in this price.

There is room for 14–16 participants.

Application Process
The process begins by filling out the application form.

After that, you will be contacted by a staff member from YWAM Sjellebro. Once the application process is complete, participants will receive a date for an online meeting. There we will share further information and also send emails with practical details, such as what to bring.

The application process is ongoing and will close when the team is full.
