19 – 21 april, 2024

Come to a quiet place where you can rest a little. These will be days of creativity, inspiration and fellowship.

We go on retreat when we want to immerse ourselves
The pottery retreat has a double purpose. We believe that creativity can be a help in silence and contemplation. That by being quiet and creative, we are helped to rest and from there get direction for everyday life and life.

LISTENING GROUPS

These will be days of silence, creativity, inspiration and community

The retreat mainly takes place in silence, but there is an opportunity for exchange in connection with the start, during listening groups and at the end.
Inspiration for Christian meditation will be given. The days are spent working on pottery, preferably combined with walks in nature. Listening Groups are a place where you can share surprises, or lack thereof, with 2-3 others without anyone asking questions or comments. A plus is that it is often inspiring to listen to what others have seen, experienced and done during the day. It is of course voluntary.

Pottery helps to slow down

Sitting with a lump of clay and creating something where you control both the pace and the result can create well-being. Pottery can help to slow down, control negative thoughts and reduce anxiety. Working with clay is fun, life-giving and rewarding. Time passes incredibly slowly and at the same time quickly when playing with clay.

“In our pottery workshop, we have a selection of pottery tools available to all participants. There is also the option of individual guidance and help with the pottery work.

It is a fascinating process from the initial shaping of the clay to the finished ceramic work. After shaping, the drying process follows, and then comes the firing phase, glazing and another firing. We take care of the drying and firing process, but the choice to glaze the ceramics is up to you.

If you would like to be part of the glazing process, we are planning a workshop (date to be announced soon). It will be an exciting opportunity to create the final touch on your ceramic works. Here there will be an introduction to different types of glazes available in our workshop, followed by the opportunity to dive into the exciting glazing process. If you prefer that we take care of the glazing of your pottery, the color choice will be made during the pottery retreat weekend. “
